The essay is just a pupil’s opportunity to inform us who they really are, perhaps not only being a person but also as a student. Probably the most effective essays are the most essays that are authentic. We are certainly to know who our candidates are. The advice that is best I can provide to students is to ‘be your self’.
They are called short answers, buuuut they shouldn’t be too short of a response. The answers that are short taken very seriously in our review process. They give us insight that is valuable to students’s academic interest too as their commitments outside of the classroom.
We are seeking students who will probably be active members of the USC community. https://shmoop.pro/ I always suggest that students list any commitments they’ve outside of this classroom. Including conventional clubs, sports, volunteer organizations, work experience etc. But it addittionally includes, non-traditional activities such as for instance taking care of siblings or other family members, productive hobbies like photography, marathon training or climbing Everest.
Letter of suggestion
Pupils often feel like they cannot have control over their letter of suggestions; yet, pupils do have control of whom they approach to write a letter of recommendation on their behalf. We require that a minumum of one recommendation come from a person who can touch upon the student’s academic character and potential (i.e. Teacher or counselor).
Final Application Deadline Approaching
The yuletide season is we call file review season in our office upon us which also coincides with what. The December 1 merit scholarship deadline has passed at USC, however there is still time to apply by the January 10 application that is final for first-year applicants.

Visiting Campus over the Holiday Break? No problem!
I invested part of my morning at USC’s bookstore while our file review system was temporarily down monday. In the midst of choosing the precise size and item that I was looking to buy as a Christmas gift for a member of the family, We took a moment to pause and look around—the bookstore was incredibly busy! We wondered that which was going on and realized that do not only are finals winding down this week, but students are getting ready to go home for the vacation break and had been also doing some gift shopping that is last-minute. The bookstore was super crowded early in the day this week, but by this weekend, our campus will be mostly empty as the University closes for getaway break from December 22 January 1.
Even though the admission office will never be staffed over the break, prospective students and families are welcome to see campus and take unique tour that is self-guided! We understand that many visitors want to tour USC on weekends and other times of year once we don’t offer formal trips, thus we have produced the official USC Self-Guided Tour pamphlet for all your college see needs! This resource follows the path that is same USC guides take on their tours and it carries a map and pictures of significant structures and locations on campus as a guide. As you go along, you’ll see the Campus Center that houses student offices and dining choices, educational buildings, and libraries such as Doheny Memorial Library, the research library that is oldest on campus. The same as every tour led by our current students, the tour that is self-guided at the infamous statue of Tommy Trojan. Through the entire 12 months, you are able to often see students, alumni, along with other guests taking pictures in front of Tommy, so don’t be timid to take one yourself!
Exactly What tour would be complete without providing information about the areas around campus and things to do in Los Angeles? In the last page of the brochure, various local museums, restaurants, recreations venues, and shopping locations are highlighted in case campus site visitors want to explore areas off campus, too.
Whether the thing is USC on your own or led by a trip guide, you are certain to acquire a sense of exactly what our stunning campus and the city of LA have to give you. Benefit from the holiday break!
